Home Based Business Opportunity
You Can Bank On

I came across more than one "great" home based business opportunity while going through my career change.

I am still involved with several of them.  So if you are looking for ways to earn extra income, don't give up.

The key is to keep an open mind and be on the lookout for something that fits your style.

The best home business opportunity I've been involved with is one that doesn't "feel" like a business.  Rather, it's more like having a hobby that I enjoy.

The "I Love SBI!" Site

  • This site is dedicated to the folks that actually used and succeeded in a home based business opportunity.
  • See what the people who've "been there" say about it.

Here are some great home based business opportunity tips I received from and article I read by Tim Knox, titled Everything I Know About Business I Learned from my Mama.
  • Whether you're starting a retail business in a strip mall or building a virtual business online, many of the fundamentals are the same and the principles for a successful startup apply.
  • You should begin with some kind of a "Startup Plan."
  • A Startup Plan is basically the list of everything that must happen to get the homebased business opportunity up and running from the initial idea to "opening the doors".
  • Your startup plan is not as detailed as a business plan. It is essentially the "to do" list for starting a home based business opportunity.
    • Though it is every bit as important as a business plan because the Startup Plan serves as the blueprint for getting the business up and running.
  • You can start by simply listing everything that you can think of that must be done to launch the business.
  • Once you have the list break down each task into individual action items, assign each item to a responsible party and set a target completion date.
  • For example, your plan for a home based business may include:
    • conducting a market research to validate the business idea
    • conducting industry research to gauge the viability of the industry
    • conducting a feasibility study to gauge the odds of success of locating this particular business in this particular marketplace in this particular economy
    • securing funding
    • create inventory list
    • obtaining the required city, county, and state licenses (if required)
    • getting marketing and advertising in place

Of course every home business idea is different.  The key is to take all the advice you can get your hands on and tailoring them to meet your needs.

Case Studies
  • Nothing gets a point across better than a real-world story told by someone who is in the same boat as you.
  • When you view potential home business opportunities, you should do yourself a favor and DO MORE THAN READ THE WORDS -- read between the lines.
  • Does it pass the "common sense" alarm in your head?
  • What I would do was look at everything and not commit any money until I have looked through enough material until I felt comfortable.
