The Hiring
Process
What You Need To Know
The hiring process for a lot of you may have
started months ago. And you're getting closer to the end and ready to
begin your new job.
Let's look back at some of the activities you may
have
accomplished thus far.
- You may have created and used your career development
strategy.
- Developed a game plan "to get there from
here".
- You performed a self-assessment perhaps and
decided you needed some additional career
education and training.
-
You chose some method of job
search strategy to include:
- networking
- contacts
- job
search engines
- job
fairs
- newspaper
ads
- reviewing
online jobs
-
Along the way you may have received some help
from:
- headhunters
- recruiters
- employment
agencies
- career
advisors
- The employment process may have involved a
formal job
application be submitted.
- All your hard work has paid off and you have a
job
offer on the table.
But maybe the new employment process hasn't ended
yet? Now you most likely will interact with the various career
resources (such as HR) to begin your job on-boarding.
I'm sure I'm missing some steps along the way. But
most of you will have gone through some of these activities along the
way.
The employment process is involved and can be
confusing. It helped me to look at it as a step by step process. I just
handled it one piece at a time.
