Criminal Background Check
And Pre Employment Screening

A criminal background check during pre employment screening is an integral part of the condition of employment organizations use today.

Businesses today face increased liability for the actions of their employees and agents.

A smart business protects itself from costly lawsuits and damaged reputation by pre-screening its employees.

Another way to look at it is...think of the typical employee interaction with customers.
  • Do the employees handle cash?
  • Do they go into customer's homes or businesses?
  • Drive a company vehicle?
  • Interact with minors?

Not to sound all gloom and doom, but employer's owe it to their company, employees and customers to to make sure they don't hire the wrong person.

Private organizations who specialize in criminal background screenings can assist by providing the employer information to help them make the right employee choice.

Criminal history background checks are different from organization to organization.

However, most criminal background screenings will include some or all of the following:

  • Local courthouses listing all criminal offenses committed by an individual during a given period of time.
  • Traffic Offenses: Normally, the only traffic offenses that show on a county criminal record search would be a serious offense such as "driving under the influence" or a "hit and run" violation.
  • Misdemeanors: Usually considered a less serious or minor offense, the misdemeanor is a crime punishable by incarceration, typically in a local confinement facility.
  • Felonies: Of all the county criminal records, these offenses are considered more serious.
  • Generally speaking, civil cases, such as lawsuits between individuals or corporations and bankruptcies, are not included on a criminal record check.
